there is Nothing better to get creative in the kitchen - well, except eating the fruits of your labour - heres a gingerbread house challenge to get you started!

The ingredient of gingerbread

  1. 250g butter, chopped
  2. 2 cups of golden syrup
  3. 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  4. 2 cups of raw sugar in powder
  5. 4 cups flour
  6. 2 teaspoons baking soda
  7. 2 tablespoons ground ginger
  8. 2 teaspoons of spices for gingerbread
  9. 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  10. 375g butter, softened
  11. 4 1/2 cups sugar mix
  12. 1/4 cup milk
  13. 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, sifted

The instruction how to make gingerbread

  1. Preheat the oven to 160u00b0C/140u00b0C fan forced. Grease two 7cm-deep 22 cm square cake pans. Line bases and sides with baking paper, allowing a 5cm overhang on all sides.
  2. Place the butter and golden syrup in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 5 minutes or until the butter is melted. Remove from the heat. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs and the sugar to the butter mixture. Whisk to combine. Sift half of the flour, the bicarbonate of soda, ginger and mixed spice over the mixture. Add half of the milk. Whisk to combine. Repeat with the remaining flour, baking soda, ginger, mixed spice and milk. Divide batter between the prepared pans. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Turn out on a wire rack to cool. Cover with a clean cloth. Set aside overnight to cool completely.
  4. Make the frosting: Make the frosting, Using an electric mixer, beat the butter in a bowl until pale and fluffy. Gradually add the icing sugar and the milk, beating constantly until combined. Add the cocoa. Beat to combine.
  5. Assemble the house (see article).
  6. Decorate the front (see article).
